In 1983, Cynthia Meyers founded a small financial planning firm in Sacramento, California. At a time when much of the financial planning world was investment-driven, Meyers took a very different approach. She created a model based on three things: a high level of client service, a “life” approach to financial planning, and a highly individualized process. She has always believed that life-defining decisions require this approach.
Over the years, this focus on life-planning has been highly effective, and Meyers’ thinking has been ahead of the times. In subsequent decades, many financial services firms, both local and national, have moved in this direction.
As Cynthia Meyers’ clientele and reputation has grown, she has been sought out as a professional on individual finance, appearing in local, regional, and national media, authoring articles, and contributing insights in a variety of personal finance forums.
In 2018, Meyers renamed the firm Confluence Financial Planning to better reflect the team of advisors who have grown to be a part of the firm. The “Confluence” name speaks to the strength of the firm, the sense of collaboration with clients, and the richness of life’s possibilities.
Today, Confluence advisors assist clients across the nation. With decades of collective experience, the Confluence team offers a high level of expertise across a wide range of complex financial specialties. Additionally, our advisors routinely recommend reliable and experienced professionals to help take care of concerns that are outside of their specific areas of expertise. A referral to the right professional not only saves time and money, it can be invaluable.
What You Can Expect
We take the time to thoroughly explain the process and the particulars of an often-complicated financial landscape. Core Beliefs That Guide Our Practice
We believe in the innate ability of people to find their own paths, with the right help and guidance. These are the people who are our clients and employees.
We base our practice on these attributes: strong values, extraordinary focus, high quality, consistency, attention to detail, structure, optimism, enthusiasm, and excellent listening skills.
We aim to exceed people’s expectations about what financial planning is and how it can help them.
We are continually grateful to those who have helped us along the way; for we know, without a doubt, that we cannot do what we do alone.
